Bought my Cleveland Hibore xls driver and fairway woods from Golfonline. Arrived 36 hours after ordering. No problems, no hassle, just did what they said they would. Excellent service. My playing partner also bought his from there and had the same service. Recommended!!!!! Regarding irons though I bought mine from golfbuyitonline, as they actually gave me an extra club (3 iron) for £20 more than other firms where charging for 4-pw. They arrived within 48 hours also. Complete order and again no hassle. Hope this helps in your search.

Matt, when I looked at some new irons I went and had a custom fitting and the end result was that I could just walk into any store and buy a set off the shelf because all my measurements came out as standard/regular. I then took 3 different manufacturers clubs (the top 3 in my accuracy/grouping/consistency results from the fitting) out on to the practice area at another club to see the actual ball flight and to hit it off grass. This was 2 days later and I spent a good couple of hours trying different shots eg fade and draw, punch shots as well as trying to leather the skin off the ball before I made my own mind up. That was when I started to search the internet for the best deal. I suppose I was quite lucky in the fact that I could just buy a set of the shelf but if you have a fitting first, there are sites out there who will build your clubs to your specifications at little or no extra cost. Worth looking around!!!

Philip,

If you're going to get a new set. Get them fitted. Had a fitting recently at the Nike Academy in Leeds (they also fit for Ping, TaylorMade, Mizuno, Callaway)

I cannot recomend it enough. Colin and I have done a review of the process, you can read it here http://www.gtour.co.uk/news/view/1114/Nike_Academy.html

I think we still have a few vouchers available worth £50 for the fitting. You have probably heard that the Belfry is "the" place for fitting. James was poached from there by Nike (he was there 5 years)

To be Honest, Colin is off 20 or 21 and he didn't think it would help, but it did.

I live in essex, and would happily drive there to get it done again (In a few years as recently had it done)

James Is a really nice guy and will make a difference to your game. You don't have to get the clubs from there. just make sure you jot down all the specs that are right for you and then phone around to get the best price.

You will need to book the fitting in advance to make sure you get a slot.

at the end of the article we wrote is an e-mail address which is direct to Colin and his other half.

Just ping him and e-mail and he can get it posted to you mate.
