Ideas for competition format

Posted by: user75266 | Fri 22nd May 2009 15:35 | Last Reply

The YMCA Worcester Charity Golf day is approaching (3 teams already from this site - but still looking for teams if you'd like to join us!) and I thought it might be useful to get your ideas on what's the best format for a competition.

Last year's event was a 3/4 handicap Stableford Team event (with just the 3 highest scores from each team counting) but I know that  many have expressed a preference for medal competitions on different discussion posts.

So, what does everyone think? Is Stableford the best approach? Or are there any other ideas?

You have to be congratulated for the way you oprganised and ran ladst years Charity Day, Dave. Everyone enjoyed themsleves very much.

I see no reason to change the format because, even though I like Medal rounds, it will slow down the whole field, with everyone having to walk back after a lost ball and of course putting out even when they cannot contribute.

I am not averse to a Texas Scramble myself, but that is just an option.

We could just toss a coin as to which of my teams win - get some element of suspense!

I think the reserves will do it again this year, Tim. although being holders we should be upgraded as the First team now.
