Hi,
What insurance company do you think gives the best service, as i am about to renew, and was thinking of moving to a specialised golf insurer.
Cheers

Chris that is brilliant news that your covered. I have been looking to do this for a while now and I am tired of the Mrs telling me to cover my clubs.
Anywho, sounds daft but are things like shoes, golf balls and everything else you carry in your bag covered??
I would probably need simialr cover to you. Do I enter the value of the clubs when I first bought them?? Such as my driver was £200 new but probably worth a fraction of that?
Any help would be appreciated.

I've got my cover through 'The Golfers Club'.
Cost was £54.95 this year, and gives:-
£5Million Personal Liablility
£2500 third party property damage
Golf Equip £2000
Equipment hire £200
£350 dental treatment
£200 Hole in one cover (which I finally had to claim on this week!)
There's also £50,000 cover for various "Personal Accident" items - death, loss of limbs, loss of sight, permanent disablement.
There's also a host of freebies that come with cover, including 2 for 1 vouchers, which have saved me quite a lot of money in the past.
As I've heard a couple of bad stories about golf club break-ins this year, where members thought their household insurance would cover them but didn't, I definitely think seperate cover is the way to go. You just have to make sure it covers them for where you usually keep your clubs - they may not be covered in the garage or a Club locker-room for instance!

Yeah same boat as Mark there. No receipts as the clubs are a few years old now. Will that be a problem?

My understanding is that you tell them how much the old ones cost (or what replacements would cost now), and that is the cover you receive - the receipts they would need to see would be for replacements if you claimed on the insurance. In my case, Mizuno don't make the same irons now, so I'd expect to buy new clubs within the cover I've paid for, and produce those receipts to the loss adjusters.
Just to add - I got my cheque through today for the hole-in-one claim, and I only sent the claim form on Monday, 2nd class (total 6 days from hitting the ace to getting a cheque through) - now that's efficient!

Right gone with Golf Plan as Chris suggested - sounds daft but I hope I never have to use it.
