Ever walked away?
Hi,
Today I did something that I am quite ashamed off.
After 8 holes, I actually left my fourball and walked off the course. The reason, my mind is currently elsewhere (relationship) and I realised that there is no reason to continue playing like I was!
Is this uncommon?
PS, now drinking plenty of alcohol

Paul,
Many thanks for your response. It certainly put my life into perspective and with me having a healthy 3 year old - I feel I am being very selfish!
I hope you and your children are well and look forward to meeting you!
Regards

Absolutely Paul!
Ps. I am glad all is well now - although typing is getting harder
I cant seem to play well when I am thinking about other things!!

Dennis, I've never walked off but in retrospect I should have after being told what an arse I am when I'm not playing well..swearing, throwing clubs etc.. it brings other people down but I was too self centred to realise this.

Dennis,
I've never walked off even when playing shite as I'm a bit stubborn & always think "but my next shot could be a peach". I've played with plenty of people who have walked off, mainly low handicapper.
I think as long as it deosn't affect anyone else's round then you have to do what you feel necessary but if you were playing foursomes then that could be another story!!

I've never walked off during a round of golf, no matter how badly I was playing. In fact the worse I play the more I want to play to get rid of it!!!
Weather is a different matter! I have walked away from a round when the heavens opened.

Going a little off topic but i was interested in Chris's reply. If you are in a comp and your marker decides to quit due to injury or disgruntlement can another member of the group mark your card for the concluding holes and if so how do you complete the card?
Just interested as my regular playing partner threatened to quit a competition round after 9 holes recently and I assumed I would have to enter a NR as he was marking my card. We were playing with a third player whose card I was making. Fortunately he parred the 9th and decided to continue.

I would imagine that as long as the sulker signed yor card before he left with a footnote 1-9 then there'd be no problem. You continue to get your card marked by whoever was marking the sulkers card.

I would say that the other player would mark your card for you.
