Anyone know the rules of taking pictures at golf tournaments as per my post regarding the European Tour, I'm off to Kent to watch the pros do thier stuff, I have just purchased a new Digital slr camera and would be keen to bring this along to capture the day, I know the pros can be a little fickle about cameras and would be careful around thier shots, but are there any official rules regarding cameras at tournaments ?

Pat

Although they state No cameras allowed you will always find people with them

I will admit that when i went to watch The Open at sandwich a few yrs back i did take my camera and i got some great shots of some players and shots but i didnt take any photos whilst they were swinging

so its up to you if you want to take your camer but i would try to keep it out of they way most of the time

I attended the PGA championship at Wentworth a few years back and whilst no one had cameras an awful lot of people had mobile phones with camera which kept popping out.

To be honest though some of the offical photographers get awfully close but I agree you can't have 100s of fans all with cameras out clicking away

Its the old fashioned "Motor Drives" and "SLR's" that cause most problems and why they are banned for the spectators.

FLASH of course too.
