London marathon

Posted by: user75266 | Sun 12th Apr 2009 13:09 | Last Reply

I'm "running" the London Marathon in a couple of weeks to raise money for the YMCA.

Any other "shakers" there?

Good luck with the marathan Dave.

Are you going to be wearing anything distinctive so I can spot you without having to change views from my armchair?

Let us all know how you do.

Russ

Tell you what Dave, £50 bonus to the YMCA if you beat the time I did it in in '87 -  a couple of seconds over 5h 46m.

Hope you know what you're letting yourself in for Dave, but I'm sure you can beat that time.  My wife decided it would be fun to enter me for my 30th birthday present the year I gave up playing football, so I was still pretty fit, although I was never much of an endurance person but I did manage to run it all - just.  At least you'll have a smoother run now that they've got rid of the Tower of London section with the cobbles, and hopefully not have the humiliation of being outsprinted to the line by a 60 year old like I was.

Well done Dave - may still give you the £50 for the hell of it anyway.  I can guess what you're feeling at the moment, it only took me a couple of weeks to recover!

Well done Dave

That's the equivalent of running(?) around 6 or so golf courses so about 1 hour to run around each course with a few mins to hit the ball.

mm..  I can feel an idea coming on...
