Golf Bag Travel case

Posted by: user101168 | Thu 12th Mar 2009 17:00 | Last Reply

Hi I am going to Portugal in May for a golfing Holiday ( cant wait ).  In need of a travel bag/case to take my clubs over.  Does anyone have one for sale or could recommend a place to buy them from.

Help appreciated

Cheers!

Plenty on ebay, Philip. Here is one for you.

Recommend a hard one rather than a soft one.  I would see if you know anyone not going with you that has one you could borrow.

i got a soft one from sports world, only cost £5 wrapped loads of bubble wrap around the clubs. it was big enough to put all the kids toys and the wifes shoes in aswel.

Simple recommendations:-

  • Get a wheeled one
  • If you buy a soft one don't expect it to last
  • Don't look out of the plane window while they are loading/unloading the luggage, the way they treat your beloved clubs will scare the pants off you
  • Put a broom handle or similar in the bag to take any impact.

I got a Golfers Club soft wheeled case for £20.00 off e-bay and it was fine for my Portugal trip, packed the top of the clubs with bubble wrap so they didn't rattle around.

Top tip though.  Don't bother with the crappy locks they come with, just use a nylon ty-wrap - it stops people opening it casually but can be taken off with a pair of scissors if needed.  Remember to take a couple of spares for the return trip!
