Stand Bags:
Finally got my season underway on Saturday (Rossendale, if you're interested) and on dusting down my 'gear' I remembered how tatty my bag is! Old, scruffy and the odd broken zip puller. Can anyone suggest a good (value) stand bag. Usual requirements - full set of clubs/comfortable/good storage and must have a hood. I don't want to pay silly money but want it to last a couple of years! Thanks Russell

Russel,
I've had the Ogio brand in the past & they are superb although they cost a little more. I now have an Adams stand bag & I'm really impressed with it.
Take a look on the todaysgolfer.co.uk website & look at their reviews.
John.

Nike Sasquatch Tour Bag. As a long term carrier I actually looked into this a lot and after getting one of these it certainly ticks all the boxes for me. Normally I wouldn't go for any manufacturers product so blatently 'branded' as this (if they want me to advertise they can pay me) but it's an excellent bag. It's light (14kg all up - including all my rubbish I usually carry), 14 way divider, more useful pockets than you can shake a stick at, a comfortable, easily adjustable strap and a decent stand. Not too sure about long term wear resistance, only had it since Christmas (12 rounds including 6 abroad) but it feels pretty good quality. Should be able to pick one up for less than £80 at the moment

Another vote for the Nike Sasquatch Tour Bag, I bought mine mid last year and have been dragging around for a while now. No tearing, no fading of that wonderfull shade of yellow !?!
One excellent benefit of this bag is that you can lock the legs around some little retaining hoops and remove the carry straps making it a passable cart bag.
All in all I cannot fault it.

I've got the Nike Sasquatch Tour Bag too (in fact I recommended it to Tim but he got his first!). Good bag, light, pockets in the right places - you can reach the pen holder, scorecard holder and cooler pocket whilst you are carrying it - and the 14 way divider was a real seller for me. I always preferred carrying but used a trolley because I didn't like the bag I had. Since I've had this bag, the trolley has been rotting in the shed!

Just another thought Russel. I had a Datrek bag for a while, it was rubbish, it had a tendency to tip all my clubs out because it was impossible to get the strap right. Cheap and not particularly good.

Another vote for the Nike sasquatch here.
even with a really bad back it is super comfy and I can easily do 18 with it.

I currently have a Ping stand bag, won it in a local golf society. Does everything I ask it to if you get my drift. Retails around £90. Prior to that I had a Hotblade stand bag and to be honest there is not really much difference in the build quality, space etc and it looks very similar. That was only £49. Probably cheaper now as this was 2 years ago. Still looks as good now as when I bought it.

Does that one have a cooler pocket beause i think that's a great idea(not that we have that many great summer's) lol but i like the idea as my juice gets roasting by the back nine in the summer.

A lot of the bags I looked at had all the features, all of which count for nothing if the thing isn't comfortable to carry. Ask any of us hardcore carriers, I've usually got enough kit to mount a small expedition in my bag, full set of clubs, a couple of dozen balls, towels, water (with ice pack if needed), snacks, waterproofs, fleece, hats, gloves, toolkit etc. So far I've used it in snow, wind and 30deg heat and never had a problem yet.

Nike Sasquatch Tour Bag 84.99 on ebay and Wilson Prostaff is 59.99. I don't really do red/white (too much like Man Utd/LFC hee hee!)... I'll start selling the kids toys this weekend on ebay and see if I can find anything all/mostly black. Thanks for all te suggestions!

Russ,
The Sassie bag comes in about 8 different colour variations so you van get anything you want from all black, red with black trim, grey with blue trim to grey wilth lime green trim - mine is the grey and yellow. It's also cheaper from Direct Golf. Before you buy, see if you can get into a shop and try one on as comfort is key. You're bound to have a Nevada Bob's near you where they will have a range to look and feel the balance of.

Yep - I'm in Manchester so will 'try before I buy' somewhere soon! BTW - in case of emergency - can the Sasquatch legs be secured so it can go on a trolley neatly?

Yep. There are two little elastic loops on the bag that you hook around each leg. I use them before I put it in the car too as it makes it easier to get it in.
