Golfing Bonuses

Posted by: user33026 [FORUM MODERATOR] | Tue 24th Feb 2009 09:04 | Last Reply

Ok, so Dave has asked what golf has cost you (money, time with the family, sanity!), but what about unexpected positives you have got from golf?  I'm not talking about meeting new people and making friends because that's all part and parcel of the game, I'm talking about the things you hadn't forseen.

For example, I am a sciatica sufferer, I get it so bad I can't move or walk.  However, since I have taken up golf I rarely have any attacks and if I do they're very mild.  The only time I get a bad attack is if I've not played for a few weeks (damn snow caused me all sorts of problems!).  I think it's the twisting motion improving my fleibility and keeping everyting mobile.

So what have you got out of golf that you didn't expect?

Chris,

I get the tingly feeling when everything is going right or when I get a birdy or when I nail a drive right down the middle or......you get the drift.

John.

It increased my fitness levels to begin with and now has me going to the gym 3 nights per week to get even fitter for hopefully better golf.

I have been told by my piadist that the golf is good for my feet

My diabetes nurse reckons it is good exercise to help control my diabetes.
