Stolen clubs

Posted by: user93554 | Wed 18th Feb 2009 09:35 | Last Reply

Just went down to my shed last night and noticed it had been broken into and someone has stolen my clubs.  They left my Powakaddy trolley, old set of Nike blades, old 2 ball putter and just nicked my current set.

I don't even know if I can replace some of them as they are not current models and took allot of finding in the first place....feel absolutely gutted.

A full list is here, if anyone hears of any of these going cheap, drop me a PM!

I'm hoping so, have to wait for a crime number before they will do anything though.  I used to have golf insurance a few years back....wish I did now!

Thanks for the thoughts guys.  I have just spoken to the insurance lot and it sounds ok, so fingers crossed.  Even so getting used to a new set of sticks with the limited time I get to play at the moment wont be easy.

I'm absolutely certain that your household insurance covers items in your shed.

It's odd how they only took the one set, maybe it was easy to carry them away!

I keep my clubs under the stairs.

Really sorry to hear that Andrew.  I took ages to get my bag together and wouldn't swap anything in there now so I don't know what i would do in your situation.  Whilst the insurance will cover the finacial pain, we all get attached to our gear.

I'm not telling where I keep my gear in case one of you lot feel I need putting out of my misery!

Only a Labrador, an aggressive parrot and a scary missus!

My home insurance covers for when I'm at home (it also has legal cover) and my annual travel insurance covers my clubs and legal matters when I'm away.

I know you're covered so I'll say it was you!  They can sue me all they like; if I've got nothing they'll get nothing. And if I do hit someone with a drive it will serve them right for wandering into the fairway we're playing......

I have hit someone once, at Hilltop.  I got off very lightly.  A fat 9 iron from the rough on the first (to try to get me back onto the 10th!) took an really awkward kick right and hit a guy walking away from me in the middle of the back 50 yards ahead.  The ball wasn't really moving fast enough to hurt but I was glad he was carrying as I hit his bag instead of him.  I was very apologetic and he was very relieved - he was only carrying because he'd forgoten to put the battery for his PowaKaddy on charge!

Closest I've come to causing real damage was playing with the brother-in-law, Dave, and his best mate, Wayne, at Pype Hayes.  I teed off with my 3 wood on the ninth and they were stood 10 yards forward and 5 yards left.  I shanked it off the heel and the ball hit Wayne's bag at a phenomenal pace, destroying his KitKat and exploding a satsuma.  Would've been funny but Dave and Wayne were stood either side of Waynes bag, both of them leaning on it.
