Knock-out Comps
Looking for some info from Club Members re: Annual K.O. Comps at their Clubs:-
1.At my Club, Members have to have played at least 3 qualifying medals in the previous 12 months to enter the summer KO's - do you have something similar?
2.We insist on score cards being completed for ALL rounds of the KO's - this allows us to check if Members are playing far better than their handicap - do you have to complete score cards?
3.We have automatic handicap cuts for the winners (1.5 strokes) and runners-up (1 stroke) of the summer KO's. The only exception to this is Category 1 players, who cannot be cut, nor can anyone be cut into Category 1. Do your KO winners have handicap cuts?
Please feel free to keep it as brief as possible guys e.g:
1.Yes - 3 Medals
2.No - cards not needed
3.Yes - Winners cut 1 shot
Thanks for any help with this.

1.Yes - 3 Medals
2.No - cards not needed
3.No - Matchplay cannot count towards handicap for all the obvious reasons, putts are conceded, holes are given without completion and quite often the players walk in after the match is over.

1. No medal cards needed, everyone plays off 3/4 handicaps to the lowest handicapper, who plays off scratch (we have winter singles and pairs, summer singles and pairs)
2. No, card not required as its matchplay.
3. No, no one is cut as a consequence due to same reasons stated above by John, often 18 holes are not played and putts are conceded.
We hold competitions every week in the Golf season proper, mostly strokeplay events and happily most members attend all of these so handicaps are closely monitored.

Thanks for your responses so far guys - keep them coming. I've also polled most of the Clubs in my County by e-mail, and so far everyone seems to be consistent.
