Senior golf at 50?

Posted by: user43790 | Thu 22nd Jan 2009 08:41 | Last Reply

Should the whole of the UK change the minimum age for senior golf from 55 to 50? The Scottish Seniors Golf Society has already adopted this and, as we know, professionals can play on the European Seniors Tour from age 50.  What do other forum members think?

The problem with this is that the real seniors just do not stand a chance with the fifty year olds.

Not far for me for 55 unfortunately, 50 is well distant now.  Does my handicap go up to 36 then and can I play off the reds?

Your second is normally off the reds anyway Tim.  That'll a take nearly a shot a hole off you and you'll be down to about 5!

Maybe if the age limit is lowered there should be two divisions of seniors.
