It cant get worse ... can it?
Just got back from the hospital after seeing a specialist about a niggling pain in my wrist. It seems I have a crumbled bone at the base of my wrist which may need surgery. I have had my wrist strapped with a splint and told to not to bend it! Will be going back for more tests next Monday.
What with the reduction in my take home pay and now this I'm beginning to wonder if I will have to write off 2009 as far as playing any golf.
What a bummer!

I am sorry to hear about that.
Fingers crossed that all goes well next week for you.
Try not to bend it till then tho!

I broke my left wrist once and they put it in plaster, but I cut away the bit in the palm and managed to then hold a club. We played an interclub match Chingford versus Ilford at Ilford G.C and you would not believe how well I struck the ball that day. the firm left wrist was magnificent. My long irons were a delight.

John, surely that plaster cast must have been classed as a golfing aid and therefore disqualified you from playing? lol
Paul, sorry to hear about wrist, but look on the bright side, it won't affect your putting!
So practice your putting and when you get back on the course you will be a demon on the greens.

You may well be right in that assumption, Russ, but I played with it nevertheless and no one objected.

Paul although its tough at the moment its better to get something like that sorted out than to be playing with a niggling injury which won't get better and spoils your enjoyment of the game.

John, I would not have objected either, in fact I would have thought it would be an advantage to me, but the other side must have realised it wasn't once they saw you hitting the golf ball.

I could hit the ball without the plaster in those days, Russ, so they were expecting it anyway.

Pot - kettle (apart from the hitting a decent golf ball bit) David?

Nice to see you back playing, Paul. Mortgages must be cheaper now with the low interest rates.

I have deleted all my responses that mention that dirty word politics. Not the place on a golf forum.
