NORTH vs SOUTH Entrants
There are some players from the opposite ends of the country registering for possibly the wrong team!!!
Generally people play for the team geographically closest to them, I wouldn't expect any from London to register for the North Team although I appreciate they may have done so because they want to be on the winning side AGAIN.
however once everyone has registered their interest it may be that one side is top heavy and as in previous years we would expect people to transfer over to the "other side" to balance them out.
Please bear in mind this is not a DO OR DIE competition, but one of great banter and socialising.
Don't worry if a team that you wish to register for seems to be full up, just get your name down anyway because you could still get a game by being switched to the opposing team.
THIS IS THE GREATEST COMPETITION ON THE GOLFSHAKE CALENDAR AND VERY POPULAR.
For those that weren't aware of last years event, of the 16 teams involved, after the first 13 matches had been completed where it was "nip & tuck" the result was a DRAW, the North won the event over the last 3 games amidst some fantastic atmosphere.

Kevin,
Have you made sure you have clicked on the right event as there are 2 links, one for the mighty north & the other for the south??
John.

I think you are right Kev, shenanigans of the first order I think our captain should put his foot down with a firm hand!!

No objection to playing in skirts as long as we play off the ladies tees.

John,
Most of the southerners play their 2nd shots from the ladies tees anyway

How very astute of you John, I did not think you had noticed. Don't you know it is the only safe way of making a bogey.

You do realise that with the South filling their team with mid to low handicappers they'll be whinging when they lose that the North are a load of bandits and the format is weighted in favour of the high handicappers. There'll be no accepting defeat gracefully this time.......

Do I detect a little nervousness coming from the North, realising that they are going to have to depend, in the main, on their high handicaps.
Or have they realised that threequarters handicap should favour the lower combinations.

The format acutally weights it in favour of the low handicappers. True competitors high or low have no fear

Darren. could you remove the Southerners from the North List, just to avoid confusion, as they have all re-signed up for the correct team - the winning one.

You are so right, Martyn, one can smell the panic already.

No John, that'll be fresh air. We have a lot of it up here.

I'm defibately in the right section - you're all southerners to me!!!

Come on, David, you are supposed to be the Captain and setting a good example. You have not even put your name down yet.

Ever the Drama Queen.

John, think I have sorted correctly.
Mr Bale, Hewitt, Patel and Black have been removed from North and left in South.
Therefore South have 19 and North have 18 registered.
Will confirm final details next week and being to promote and start the build up

Well done Darren, thank you for tidying it up.it looks as though the South are really taking it seriously this year.
As an aside, is it possible to have a facility whereby anyone can withdraw from an event by removing themselves from the competition, as I have noticed when an event is full, no one can get to see who has actually entered the event. Even when someone drops out it is still not possible to get into the event.

John, not 100% sure I understand. When you view the competition you can view the competitors/results to see who's registere. From this page entrants can also remove themselves and thus allow someone else to register.
There are a few flaws by design but these will be rectified soon, if you have any suggestions feel free to PM or email me.
Kind regards, Darren.

I am obviously missing something, Darren, as I cannot see anywhere where I could, if I wished, remove myself after I have entered.
