Could play better?

Posted by: user20126 [FORUM MODERATOR] | Wed 24th Dec 2008 01:09 | Last Reply

I've been playing really well over the last two or three weeks.

One of the reasons is that the weather has been kind, hardly any wind.  Plus I'm playing on what I consider to be the easier of the two courses at Stapleford Abbotts GC.

My handicap has come down by two shots over the last week, from 16 to 14.

I played today with two playing partners and we had a really close game, a birdie on the last hole meant one of my partners matched my 80, 10 over par.  I had a par on the last.

Now after putting in my scorecard I noticed that I had two penalty shots on my card, and I three putted twice!

So no matter how well you play you can always look back and think of those odd shots where you could have done better.

I wonder if the Pro's who have had a sub par round sit down on an evening and think how much better they could have done?

What an annoying game golf is.......

We nearly always leave something out on the course, Russ, that is the way it is I'm afraid. I allude to something like this in my memoirs blog which has now reached 22 pages.

Yes I agree, that's one of the things about this game that keep us coming back for more.
