Progress report on John Pettitt
Just spoke to his wife, Yvonne, and asked after John
As most of you know he had his knee operation on Wednesday, and it looks like all went well.
You will be pleased to know that he is back to his moaning and groaning, and driving the nurses mad.
He should be discharged later today, or tomorrow..
So look out Forum posters for more ear bashing...You have been warned!!!

Can't we arrange for them to keep John in hospital for a little bit longer, just in the interests of his health, of course!
Glad to hear the operation went well.

I am now back into civilisation but still feel like a zombie. The pain in the knee is something that I would not wish on my worst enemy. I have a feeling that my first golf will be in Feb in the Algarve, cannot think of a nicer place for a comeback.
I have made note of all those who have wished that I should still be locked up in the ward and they will get their just rewards once I can manage more than three keyboard depresses without a mistake.

One paragraph without a moan John, you must be feeling better!

Nice to see you are out of hospital and on the road to recovery and rehabilitation. If you should suffer any ill effects of not playing you can always by a games console and woop Tiger Woods' ***.
Should keep you occupied and time will fly. Look forward to having a game with you once you are back on your feet.
See you soon at 2009 Golfshake evnets.
Regards

Great to hear everything went well for you John. In my experience, the pain will go eventually but it may take a few weeks. You'll soon be back on the course chipping it to within inches; you may even get your driving back up to the magic 200 yard mark.
Make sure you do the physio and your knee will be stronger than ever. I need you fit so that you can show me how to play this bloody game!

Glad to see you back on here John.
Take things easy and let mother nature do her work.
And looking on the bright side, the Algarve sounds like a great place to make your golfing comeback.

Correct, Tim, as always right on the button.

Martin, first congratulations are the order of the day for picking up the award at the Shindig. I knew you would do it. We will have a game next year for sure.

Chris, you are on my list of players who really must let their ability rise to the surface. Next time we play I will pass on the simplicity of the swing to you and with your natural power will become a force to be reckoned with.

Russell, I have noticed that since joing the Crown golf network that you are getting more golf in these days. I used to play a lot myself on the Priors so that is a course that I know very well

John, I know we missed the chance this summer to join up and get a round of golf in but let's make sure we do it next summer.
I certainly get my moneys worth out of my membership at Stapleford Abbotts GC, even if I'm not playing there I'm on one of the other courses they have.

Stuart G, I will certainly be seeing you all in the Algarve, if only for a beer and a chat as you have a competition going on amongst yourselves.
Putting you back on the right line is a simple thing, you know that ,as we have already been there.

Like everyone else on this forum I am entitled to an opinion and I usually give it straight from the hip, not to be rude or anything but to make the responder realise that I am not an idiot and will not be browbeaten by others after something I have said has been entirely misconstrued by certain posters.

David, you are a great player but you know that to find 8 shots would be something dramatic, even for someone with your abilities.

Glad to see you're on the mend JP. I need to find some time this year for golf. Still can't harness my swing. Things just seem to be getting worse again. I'll be tapping you for another lesson.

I know Wayne. I've got the bills to prove it.

Danny,we will get together for a couple of games over at Pedham next year before the season starts and just a little work from you on what I tell/ show you will bring the improvement you are looking for, very quickly. After all I need two shots to get to your drives.

Lets make it a date John. Can't see us affording a big holiday this year, so I'm going to use some of my holiday time to book off the odd day here and there for golf.
That may be true about my drives, but I need another 3 shots to get to your 3rd.

The pair of you are welcome anytime, anywhere, you both know that and I certainly do not see that being a problem with Danny.
I am hoping to start my new coaching school in the modern art of banditry should any of you wish to make use of my skills in this area.

It will work the next time as well.

I'm thinking of just using physical intimidation in future.

What about getting something lined up for when you back on your feet JP? Pedham always plays well in the winter.

John i think you need a new matchplay partner . I didn't want to bring this up (much) ,But i beat your man Jonny at Burford Golf Club (great course/and company) last Thursday 1up. A very close match you may think, I would like to point out i played without a Driver and no putter.Driver intentional shoulder still giving chib, putter was left home by mistake putted first two holes with 3iron then turned to rescuse wood. Jonny did offer to share putter to be fair.

Don't tell me what I already know, David, he posted his round on Golfshake and I thought then, that even finishing double double, after failoing fast after trying to walk round, I still beat him by five myself.. So you are correct he did not help me much, but having said that I did not help him much the frst time.
I suppose it would be fair to point out that the five I made at the par five, from hundred yard away bunker, when you all failed to make par would be pretty embarrassing for you all.
The fact that we were once again well beaten was more the fine play of yourself and Kevin, which at times showed a maturity bordering on banditry quality.
To be fair, johnny does strike the ball rather nicely when he has the swing working, but we both picked up on his top of the swing position and although I was not listening I thought you were discussing this aspect of his game with him in the clubhouse afterwards.
Burford is a nice course, have not played there for many years, hope you enjoyed it whilst I was stacked up in a hospital bed. Your are only raising this to get me pi**ed off again.
As regards changing my partner I feel quite sure that he would rather have someone else himself as I have not supported him very well. Perhaps if I played from his drives as well then it would be a fairer match.

Danny, I am sure that I will be up and about probably sometime Dec/Jan so would love to pop round to Pedham. I will let you know as soon as I feel I can get round a course.

Thanks George, I had the keyhole surgery on the 1st August this year and it failed miserabley, hence in again, this time for a knee replacement.
Currently I am still suffering very severe pain and until this eases I just cannot see what I can do to improve the situation.
My knee is very swollen and is burning up, so it is possible I may have an internal infection problem, I hope not as I have no wish to go back in again. I will bring this up when the nurse visits to morrow and hope she can put my mind at rest.
