Glideball
Hi guys Ive just purchased a "Glideball" and have to say am well impressed.. Ye granted its not like hitting at the range but you only need a space of about 3 foot by 8 foot to use it and can whack away to your hearts content.
The only downside that i can see is that you cant see the end result of your shot ie where the ball ends up but saying that if your a consistent topper or such faults its great to work out what your doing wrong. The fact that I can practice my swing every day can only be a good thing and you dont have to hold back either you can even use your driver and not worry about smashing windows or injuring people, lol.
Do any of you guys have one and if so what do you make of them? And have they improved your swing?

Yes, Stephen, it does look a rather natty idea, but there is always the danger of grooving an incorrect swing, as there is no feedback as to where the ball would have actually gone.
It saves a journey to the driving range, but even those are really no good unless the player is under constant supervision from a good teaching pro. Spend some time at a driving range and take a close watch of the players just thumping balls down the range with poor swings. All they are doing is grooving a method that will never be consistent on a golf course.
Indoor golf schools with plenty of mirrors help much more IMO.

Don't get me wrong, Stephen, I think it is a great bit of kit and would find a use for it, if I owned one, but it does have its drawbacks in not being able to give feedback as to what happened to the ball after it has been struck, whereas on the range ,one can see it and hopefully, correct the next shot.
I occasionally pop down the range if I have nothing to do but I only ever take a wedge as the flight of the ball tells me that I am doing it right and it is then easier to hit a bucket knowing they are correct. It is the same swing for every iron.
