De Veres Oulton hall

Hi guys am booking a golf break at De Veres Oulton hall in december and jus wondered if any of you guys have played it recently? And what your thoughts are?

Played this course last year Stephen, and I have to say it was just a little disapionting, not the facilities which are fabulous, great driving range with auto tees and stately home as a club house, but the course condition, the layout is very diferent hole to hole and with lots of dog legs that you'll wish you cut when you see the room there is, but the course seamed a little untidy, not up to De Vere standard but a good test all the same.

Yes it was a corporate day, we got tee's (tee's were green???? ) pitch mark repairers, ball markers and a course planner and a knatty suede bag to keep them in too

When we looked at the planners they did'nt give us a true idea how much room there really was on the fairway's as you could'nt see from the tee so we kind of played it safe, if I went back there I would cut them, or try, some of them you could get over the trees with a good 3 wood.

Club house still was'nt finished when I was there but they said the course was a muni before they got it so maybe they were sorting the c.h. first.
