1 question

Posted by: user66851 | Thu 16th Oct 2008 17:59 | Last Reply

Ok here we go! I recently played a club stableford competition in which i shot a 77 on a par 70 course. Playing off 15, i was pleased that finally i didnt get a couple on 8's or 9's on my card! lol Anyway with 44 points i would have won IF i had signed my card and not forgotten! hahahaha numpty! Thing is , even though i got disqualified from the competition for not signing my own card, i still got my handicap cut! This i am actually very pleased about, but found strange how i can get disqualified yet still get my handicap cut :S A friend said they might have cut me 'on observation' Any idea's if i should have been cut?

About time you were pegged, James.

Most definitely in my humble opinion. You provided the evidence so it is no good whinging now. You have also learned something from the exercise. The lower your handicap gets, the harder you will have to try - good luck.

I doubt there is a rule that covers that situation, James. Yiu were disqualified from the competition for failing to sign your cvard, but of course your card was submitted anyway and the evidence points to a reduction in handicap. Congratulations. You will soon be better than the old man.

Wayne, he even had the effrontery to take the money when I invited him down to my club a short while ago, so a reduction in handicap is well overdue. Like all young men he hits the ball miles and has an excellent swing (Not a copy of his Dads). He has single figure potential for sure and would probably be there now if he had got his priorities right when he was 13/14 and stayed loyal to the best game in town.

Yes it appears we do have the wrong James Marshall, never mind thought the comments still stand.

I see you play a lot of golf at Woodbridge - lucky man, a very nice course.

I know what you mean about the winter winds as I used to be a member at Frinton-on-sea Golf club in the early eighties.
