Hitting right????
Hi fellasjust a quick question to see if any of you can give me a few tips...
When I address and line up even though my shoulders feet and hips are facing the target my shots keep going right? Not as in a slice but straight to the right, My pro has advised me to pull further left after impact which helps a bit but am finding now im hitting left whilst trying to over compensate?
Any tips apart from AIM LEFT, lol

Check that the clubface is square to the target line at address. If the aim and swing are correct but the clubface is slightly open, this will cause you to push right.

It may be square at address, but is it square when you strike the ball? Stupid question, but how big are your hands? If you have small hands or short fingers, you may be struggling to get your hands round during the swing. I suffer with short fingers and had my driver regripped with one less layer of tape and it has made a huge difference.

Thought I just posted something, but it never turned up!
Just a thought Stephen, you might be doing what I do sometimes, my brother helpfully pointed it out the last time I played him. I thought my shoulders were lined up with the target but they were pointing left, despite everything else pointing to the target. When I hit it it went exactly where my shoulders were pointing! I now consciously pull my left shoulder inwards so it aligns with the rest of my body. I put it down to the slightly dodgy focus on my left eye, I was opening my shoulders out to see the target instead of rotating my head a bit more.

Correct, Tim, shoulders pointing to the left of the target is the most common mistake that the handicap golfer makes.
As the arms are attached to the shoulders, they can only swing along the line of them, and if they are open, then an outside to inside path of the club is the result.

John, you also pointed it out to me at South Winchester. It's a difficult habit to get out of and I need to remind myself quite often. Strange how your head fools the rest of your body so easily

It is this fault that is reponsible for the majority of golfers being high handicaps. Keep on trying though, Tim, as you will then reap the rewards.
