Perfect Club

Posted by: user119285 | Fri 10th Oct 2008 12:37 | Last Reply

Bought one of these off ebay the other day , I wasn't expecting much, went to the driving range this morning and , Allelujah!!! 170+ yards straight 9 times out of ten.

I know most people don't like the idea behind these clubs ,but I can't wait till my next round now as my slice was becoming depressing.

Anyway , the question is, can anyone recommend a 3 wood with a similar Heavy head and an offset face but with a full length shaft?

Cheers

Cheers

David, it is not a good idea to use the design of a club to correct inherent faults in ones swing, far better to learn the correct method in the first place, then your choice of clubs mushrooms into thousands.

Your dead right John and I expect that like me you use persimmon headed woods with hickory shafts to ensure that you don't get any new fangled technology interfering with your swing.

I know I'm right, Pete, still in possession of my persimmon woods with steel shafts, gave up the hickory many moons ago.

Technology has taken a lot away from the game in my opinion.

I agree that progress has to be made but steel shafts only replaced hickory because of the shortage of hickory, likewise metal woods replaced persimmon because of a shortage of persimmon. The scoring has not improved because of this technology in the Pro field and handicaps are way higher than they used to be many years ago in the amateur feld. So I don't think we are progressing in this game.

I am sure you will disagree, Pete as I picked up on the tongue in cheek sarcasm in your post.

Every year the manufacturers have to bring out a new model, claiming all kinds of benefits, when we all know damn well that it is pure maketing hype and the new club will do nothing whatsoever for ones game.

The Perfect Club, The Knife, The Big Eezee's, The Short Game Wizard, The Alien Wedge etc etc.

All designed to make your game easier but more importantly to make the patent owners richer quicker.

On saying that.....If it works...

As said, If it works for you then thats great, but ive always been wary of anything that offers a miracle cure for anything (not ony in golf) as if it sounds to good to be true then usully it is!

The One time i ingnored the this was a while back when i was suffering with wedge play (i now know that it was purely a mental thing) so i parted with some hard earned for the Alien wedge (i see its been mentioned above) and have to admit that at first when i was down the range i had some encouraging results, unfortunaty i could never repeat the feat on the course and it now languishes in the garage with clubs that are only bought out to provide a giggle.

I agree that the only things that these type of clubs do is mask faults and make the patent holder richer. I would never see them as a "improvement" club as they are very limited as to what you can dp with them.
