Blades or Cavity irons ?
I have never played with Blades
I know manufactures keep looking for the "best mix"
I don't think I could bend a 'Cavity' around a tree like I might be able to do with a 'Blade' ok I know an outlandish statement considering I've never played with a blade but I can 'imagine' what I may do with a blade
I'm sure there is something here worthy of response from 'somebody' out there who can comment on the pros and cons of these two types of clubs just as a matter of interest ?

If you want a compromise Col, try muscle backs. Not as heartless as a blade when it comes to forgiveness, but allows you to work the ball much more than a cavity back. They're not for everone though so make sure you try before you buy.
As an aside, have a look at Srixon irons (I have some). Whilst they are a cavity back, they are muscle backed in the middle so that if you hit it off centre it forgrgives and if you middle it it plays like a blade. I can work mine in both directions. Unfortunately my skill level means I can't control the amount I work it so I use the ability sparingly to get around large obstacles I've stupidly placed myself behind to get myself back in play.

Golf is for enjoyment... dont get rid of cavity backs too early. If you can't constantly hit the centre of each iron then dont change... once you start playing bad then all enjoyment goes..as does your handicap.
