Has this happened to anybody else?
Just wondering if what I am going through now, has happened to anybody else.
You see I have totally lost the enthusiasm to play golf...Ahhhh Shock horror.
I didn't play for just over 2 weeks before going to Gloucester, for the Golfshake Open. And I haven't even picked up a club since I got back.
Not sure why this is happening...My wife keeps telling me to go out and play. And asks why I haven't been out....My friends ring me and ask me where I am, and when can I play.

After seeing you play at Gloucester I can see why, Dave!
Seriously, it doesn't do you any harm to give it a bit of a rest in my experience. Coming up to the Gloucester event I'd had a weeks holiday, played the Thursday before we went at Lindrick, and once the week before that. For me that wasn't much and have only had one game since the Open. And I've played well for all of them so I think the rest has done me good, and playing on all new courses has also helped.
It hasn't actually been a pleasant summer for getting out either. Just make sure you're up and running for the friendly comp.

Pull yourself together, Marshall, your event at South Winchester is proving popular, can't have you all depressed.

I really can't believe you lot specially you Mrs Marshall, although it may not feel like it out there it is summer.Look, you have to make the most of the warm-ish weather while you can, before the winter comes and you really can't get out, so get off your wrinkly bottom and get out there.......

Yeah, me too. I played 6 rounds at St. Andrews, 6 rounds at my favourite courses in the USA and the KClub in Ireland along a few other courses in Dublin all within the span of 6 weeks, June 17-July 31. And I've played once during the five weeks since.
But alas, I'm going back to the USA in 36 hours and will be back on the courses by Saturday afternoon.

Whereabouts you heading back to Michael, the frozen north of Green Bay? I'm over in a few weeks myself to windswept and rainy Georgia.

Interesting posts on the frequency of playing golf. I generally play twice a week on a Monday evening/afternoon and Wednesday morning. Over the summer holidays this frequency changed.
Most weeks |I didn't play at all but I had two periods of intese golf (four rounds in five days and three rounds in four). I found playing nearly everyday much less enjoyable even though over the whole six weeks I played less.
I think the lack of enjoyment stemmed from not having enough time between rounds to think about what I did wrong and then coming up with fixes to try next time. The other problem is that the aches and pains soon build up playing everyday. I used to find when I did a lot of running that going out every other day was much more enjoyable and in the long run beneficial.

I think he is after winning the money at South Winchester, Stuart, we will have to severely handicap him, now that he is playing to 4 handicap.
