Turning the hands
I've been out in the garden today with a driving net practising my irons, which I have been very inconsistent with, but today after trying a few things I realised if I turn my hands over going through the ball I got very consistent results, now I know this is not the golden jewel and I need to bring it onto the course for a more accurate result, but it felt really easy to hit the ball, and almost everytime the flight of the ball looked good. Does this sound familair to anyone or am I thinking too much about this game LOL

Well, Pat perhaps if you could be more precise as to when you have been turning these hands over, a relevant response could be available.
If you turn the hands over before impact then you will only produce a quick hook or a smother as the clubface will be closed. The clubface must be square at impact.
If you have turned the hands over after impact that is a natural response to a correct path through the ball.
What I think you did today is something that I have always advocated and that is the clubface is opened on the backswing and closes to square at impact and then the right hand rolls over the left, well after this, to complete the swing. The ball flight will then be a slight draw.

Thinking logically it must be after the ball is struck or you would smother it at best but most probably hit it low and left, after all you would have closed the face at impact.
To turn ones hands over at any point would require them to have been opened on the backswing, so I would think this is what you have been doing today. If so then you should see the results repeated when you play tomorrow, good luck.

It is not my good wishes you need, Pat, it is faith in what you learned today and will hopefully carry it over to tomorrow and for evermore.
This game hinges on little breakthroughs.
