Counting down from 12!

Just for a laugh, I'm going to record how long my new shiny balls last!

So, 12 lovely Srixon balls are lying in my bag as of today - lets see if they last the summer!

Why dont we have a sweepstake on how many hits its takes for Dave to loose all his new Srixons. Not wanting to judge Dave or cast aspersions on golf ability but ill go first with 864 shots.

Hope they last longer than the last dozen AD333's I had, they got knicked from my car this afternoon along with my old, scabby golf shoes.  Hope they catch something bad off them.

Luckily none of my other kit was in there.

They had CCTV in this car park, that's why they only got away with the balls and shoes, but picked up 3 dozen more AD333's for £36 today, old golf shoes were probably worth more in medical research value than retail, and only £450 for new lock and key set!

I'm going to guess at 726!

Am I too late to enter?

I'm going to go long with a prediction of 1300.  Having checked out the card for the pitch and putt course Dave normally plays I don't believe it will be easy to lose balls there.  Unless they all end up on little plinths on his mantlepiece from the rash of eagles and hole in ones he must get.

Come on Dave, sort it out!  You'll never get to 637 at this rate!  I assumed you lose an average of two per round but I obviously failed to factor in your incompetence 

Based on the 4 lost balls for 110 shots I guess were looking somewhere in the region of 330 shots to consume the lot.

Blaine might soon (much sooner than many of us thought ) be the proud owner of one of Daves old balls

No problem Dave you've got all the wild shots out of your system.  Should be able to go 5 or 6 rounds now without losing one.  You've obviously not found the lucky ball yet.  There's always one in a batch of 12.

Tim its got to be written in the stars and superstition this game of golf. 

Went out today and hit three lovely high approach shots into the front of the green only to watch them all go through the green into nasty tufty rough. 

Also today, thinned two seven irons from 150 yards all along the turf to watch them bobble on the green, one of them to within 6 foot of the hole.

Dave when's the next round or are you still licking your wounds?

Hey, I like that Col.  I reckon everyone who has put in for the sweepstake should have their initials put on one of the balls and Dave can tell us who he has lost on the course in each round

Word of warning Dave; don't use the one with my initials on if there's water on the course, it WILL get wet!!!

Just a cotton picking minute here, is this turning into some sort of sponsorship deal?  How about this one.  I've got a brand new Pro-V1 which I will use tomorrow at the comp.  £10 prize for the nearest guess as to how many shots before I lose it.  £5 per entry. 

as gamblers like a little inside knowledge this may help, Dave and i are of a similler handicap and,i've just counted up that over the last 11 games i've lost 13 balls taking 908 strokes [excluding putts]hope this helps and can i have a share of the winnings please!

p.s. i did manage to go 2 of those rounds without losing a ball but that is highly unusual.

Put all the names into a hat and first four out are the first four lost balls.  Everyone else gets one of the ones that are left.

9 holes without losing a ball off 27.7?  Bandit!!!!

Hang on a minute, that means you've only got about 5 rounds to go to lose them all or I don't win!!!  Best you start playing a couple of courses with lots of water and deep rough. 

You gonna come to the next High Handicap comp Dave?

Lightweight.  When can you do and we'll get together for a game.  I know where Perdiswell is as I've played Ravenmeadow a good few times (including my very first game).  I can play after work next Weds as I'll be on my way back from Cheltenham. 

I can play Mon to Fri evening that week Dave as I'm on a course in Cheltenham so I will be passing Worcester on the way home.  9 or 18, I'm not fussed, but I won't be able to get to you until 5:00 at the earliest. 

So can we assume that Danny is teaching you how to hit the ball better or is he better at finding your wayward drives i might still be in with a shot

You do realise I'm only trying to get a game with Dave so that I can sabotage has score.  Just as he is getting close to my score I'll develop a nasty cough everytime he swings.  And my Tourets will kick in during his putting. 

It normally only kicks in on my shots.  Tourets is my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

You've definitely found the lucky ball.  Keep it in a lead lined boxed nestled in cotton wool between rounds to stop the luck dispersing into the atmosphere and don't clean it with water as it will become magnatised to ponds and lakes.

You seem to have omitted my prediction of 1300 which was in before the deadline.  See Sat 21 june 22:51.  I'm feeling fairly confident now the average is above 100 shots per ball.

I wasn't upset when you didn't name a ball after me as 13 into 12 won't go and I was the last to jump on the bandwagon but I don't want to miss out on the glory of my prediction being the most accurate.

Keep it going Dave, sounds like you're maybe playing better now your concentrating on not losing your ball??  94 the other day sounds a good effort, well done.

I hope if you've got around (or when you get around) to using the ball with my name on that you spanked it straight into some deep water to pay me back for predicting such a low score??  (In fairness I was trying to be clever by using a "The Price Is Right" tactic of bidding low - you can be as much as you like under, but not a penny over!!
