finding people to play ?
Hi all
I have played golf for a few years now... but only a handful of times a year.
I love playing but the main reason why i do not play as much is the fact that i do not know any 1 that actually plays golf.
I have always thought of joining my local club which works out around £500 a year. This would give me access to play at weekends but i am worried that i would join up and never play because i will not know any 1 there.
I do not have a handicap score. but can get around a course. I struggle on large shots but i would get there is i played more.
so any of you have any advice ?
I just want to play more golf but not on me todd :o)

I have never had to play on my own, no matter where I have turned up to play. I just asked anyone if they wanted a game.

I have been a good player, Richard, but that has never been a problem, most of the time. Sometimes I have come across people who feel embarrassed, but I soon put them at ease and usually we end up having a great time.
There are those amongst us who will never join up with strangers, but thankfully they are few and far between.
Bear in mind that the majority of players all realise that one has to start somewhere and unless one is gifted, that is usually at the bottom.
