How much do you pay for 18 holes?

Posted by: user75266 | Mon 14th Apr 2008 11:38 | Last Reply

After the article in the latest Today's Golfer Magazine about cheap courses, I was wondering.......how much to do you pay at your local course for a round?

At my local municipal, £11.00 in the week seems like a bargain!

£16.00 for eighteen holes at my local municipal which is a nine hole course.  I was a seven day member there last year for £400 and got 40 rounds in the year.

Have now moved to a course out of town where the membership is £440 for 5 day members but it has an 18 hole and 9 hole.  Per 18 holes the prices vary from £12 to £32 depending when you play.

I only tend to play courses over £20 on 2 fore 1 or on a cheap twilight offer.  Do play once a month in the summer with a society. Usually about £25 but it also includes food and prizes.

I pay £15 for 18 at weekends at all of the Birmingham munis.  They also have a membership scheme where you can either join one course for around £400 free to play 7 days a week, or all courses 7 days a week for around £500.  As they are planning to spend around £100k on improving all 7 courses, I'm seriously tempted to join up as I already play most weeks.

Anywhere between £12 - £25 but usually try to get food included at the £25 quid end

Chris that sounds like a terrific offer on the membership.  I feel it definitely makes sense to be a member of a club if you play once a week.  The down side to it is I feel I have to play 90% of my golf there to get full value.  It can seem a bit limiting playing one course which is why I switched.

Access to 7 courses certainly overcomes that problem. I was also tempted by membership of the local county association which gets a percentage off a number of courses in Notts and links in with a number of other counties some of which are adjacent.  Does anyone else use this scheme?

I pay £850 for my green fees at my club for 7 day membership & with the light nights I am managing at least 2 games a week so it is good value for money.
