Colin,
This quote was taken from the website you gave
THE SPEED STIK ® is an amazing golf training aid that will empower you to hit the ball farther by increasing the speed of your swing. FASTER=FARTHER. The faster you swing the club, the farther you will hit the ball.
I would disagree that the faster you swing, the further you hit the golf ball. I seem to find that the smoother I swing it produces a much better ball flight which adds more distance.
Let us know how you get on with it.
John.

A few people had a go at the NvS and i think that all would agree that the weight is about right for the first tee warm up as apposed to swinging two clubs. The speed gauge is a neat little function which has only encouraged me to swing harder just to see if i can top the thing out but may come in handy once i get bored of that and just go for a smooth consistent swing speed.
So far i'd say ive had a tenners worth of fun out of it and will certainly keep it it the bag for warming up at the range etc but i seriously doubt this will ever convince me that it should sell for £70

Do you think I am swinging too fast then, David.

No not to fast john, smooth. John i noticed you never forget how to receive awards, you and your bottle of rose look very reminisant to your advatar. Well done on your birdie on 18 always a nice way to finish a round. I just hope my efforts were not caught on film.
I have had a speedstik in my workshop for many years its good for practice swings but i would not rely on the speed dial to be that accurate.

I am not so sure that it is a good aid for developing a faster swing though, David.

John to be honest faster is not something i am looking for . I have been working for a while now with my coach on being more in balance with better tempo . I am starting to see results and i know have the feeling i have a lot more time during the swing once i have set at the top.

Chris, I just don't see how it can build up swing fitness or strengthen the swing muscles as I found that it was rather like swinging a club by the clubface, that is, it felt very light and wishy washy. Swinging two clubs has got to be a better way to go.

David, you are now beginning to get a feeling for this game, by saying that you now have a lot more time, to do all the things that are necessary within the swing. It is this feeling that creates the timing that produces a consistent strike. I expect to see you beginning to reduce your handicap even lower now, as you have finally found the two things that will do this, i.e balance and tempo. Good luck.

I really hope so john, Iv'e worked hard on my swing with my coach, been having lessons every fortnight for a while know. My driving is pretty much where i want it to be iv'e picked up a few yrds but more importantly more accuracy. My chipping and pitching is as poor as ever so i will be working mostly on this area. Being a dead weight putter i struggle badly on what are basically still winter greens most places. I'm sure that wont be an issue once the greens come back. I am off to Irelnd next Thursday-Monday pre season drin.........i mean training allways nice greens so can't wait.
