Hi all,
Hi,
Gotta just say what a great site I have stumbled across while looking for a site to submit score each week and sort my true handicap out. Apparently after 4 rounds recently it is 23.1...

Welcome to the site Phillip. If you have any questions, then feel free to Private message me, and I will do my best to get back to you! Have a good look round and enjoy all the different features. If you want to meet some fellow members then sign up to the Northern Cup in June, which can be found on the events page.

Hey Phil,
Welcome aboard. lets see if we can help to get that handicap down!

My handicap has always been around the 28 mark, so 23 is quite good for the moment. Would like to get down to about 15 or so this year...It seems all those silly scuff shots and around the green shots cause the issue!!

yep sounds like a common fault that i used to have.
too much of using the wedge that you think you should use. So i changed to using the putter if the fringe is in really good condition (yes it looks like you have never played before but is all about playing the percentages). duff it 2 foot or get it on the green? i know which i choose.
or use your irons with a putting stroke, choke down on the grip, use.a 9 iron if there is more fringe with little roll to the flag or 7 iron if there is more roll to get to it.
experiment with that and let me know how you get on.
i know after showing a few of the guys in my society i wish i hadn't as are all posting good scores. but remember, to drop 8 off the handicap may take longer than you think so don't get frustrated.
Si

Cheers Si, I will give it a bash... My other major problem is Driving...all down to pressure. I can hit my driver 220-230 yards all day at the driving range, but goes a bit Pete Tong on the course...rectified it quite well on Monday by really slowing down my take off, just keeping plugging away with it..

Phil,
the biggest problem with driving is the fact that everyone is looking. just try to put it totally out of your mind. can't really say much else on it as its so bloody difficult to do.
