Best cleats / spikes

Posted by: user9368 | Mon 25th Feb 2008 21:29 | Last Reply

What can you suggest for year round use or do i need more than one set.

I have hi-tecs with the Q-lok fitting and have just replaced black widows with the original style asymetric offerings.

Colin,

I tend to use the soft stinger spikes in the summer and the pro stinger metal spikes in the winter for more stability under foot in the damper conditions.

Works for me !

I obviously dont play as much golf as you wayne as this is the third set (incl the originals) that i have fitted to my shoes in over 2 years.

The old metal spikes were good enough for over 100 years, these new soft spikes are awful, they don't grip, get full of grass and are a devil to keep clean. I have fallen over three times when swinging, with these soft spikes.

You know what John. I have big problems keeping my feet steady when swinging. I might revert back to some metal spikes.

Danny try the stingers with the spikes in the middle. They didnt have them in the Q-lok fitting for me but they should have whatever fitting you need soemwhere near you.

I tried the stingers when I went on holiday and after 5 rounds the yellow legs are worn away at the tips just like Chris said. Need to find a more durable spike/cleat
