Virtual leaderboard
Whats going on with it at the moment?
The guy leading has a points average of 56 from one round.
He is a 5 handicapper but it seems his points score is calculated as a 28 handicapper.
No wonder he has such a high points score lol

I've kind of given up with the VLB as it throws up too many anomalies like the one you mention, Steve.
I think a re-think is needed Darren?

A VLB can only ever be as good as the honesty and integrity of the players entering round statistics..
If anomolies occur to let someone see there name in cyber space lights for what ever kick it gives then in reality your not going to get a true VLB.
I think the majority of entries are genuine and there are some which may be erroneous however some do not warrant any credence at all - and thats a shame...

Robbie's right, not much you can do about honesty but I will be introducing a update around this shortly.
In terms of the existing VLB and I've already filtered out a lot of junk and from feedback like this I can hopefully continue to weed out any other bogus rounds.
Basically what I think was happening is that when you join the site unless you enter an handicap the system defaults to 28 points for men when submitting your first 3 rounds, which then affects those rounds stableford point. After your 3 rounds the system calculates your golf handicap and so from the 4th round onwards your stableford points should be correct. Hence why the 5 handicapper was getting 56 points on the system.
I've updated the system to ignore the first 3 rounds in the above scenario and this will get implemented with tonights rebuild.
Will wait and see how it looks tomorrow
Thanks for the feedback. John, look at for the re-think very soon.

Good to see you are still trying to make it work Darren, as it would be great if it was a true leader board.
I think one of the reasons i don't look anymore is that the new stats give lot of the historical information you could only gleen from filtering the VLB previously. Which is a good thing obviously. It was only that the first half a dozen places on the board seemed to be a bit of a nonsense, but what you have said makes sense.
Look forward to seeing the updates.
