North Essex

Looking at all the events golf shake has planned I can't find anything in my corner of the country. Are there other active members in the North Essex area who fancy planning something? We have a good selection of courses for reasonable prices and fairly good transport links. Be nice to meet up with some new faces. I'm happy to co-ordinate if there is an interest unless the head golfshakers want to take it on and I'll happy to partake.

Pick you local club so that you know your way around.

Thanks Russ, how do I go about doing that? My home course is Forrester's Park in Great Totham near Maldon.

David, the best way for you to arrange a game on here is to start small.

Pick your home course and book a tee time for yourself and three guests.

This way you know the course, and keeping it as a small group requires no extra work!

Once you have the course, tee time and how much it will cost you go to the 'Events' section.

Click 'Arrange a game'. Add all the details and you will have created an event.

Give it a bit of time so other people can see your game, I'd say a couple of weeks. I have put a game up the night before and had two other people join me, but I'd not recommend it!

Let's get to the end of this month and I'll come over and join you at your course, never played there.

In which case Russ if you give me a date that suits you I'll sort it for then, Gives a few weeks for others to join in. I can speak to the club on Wednesday to get some sort of deal sorted.

David, I'm away from the 16th Aug until the 24th Aug.

Week commencing 25th is free at the moment but there may be a couple of days at work. Weekends are unlikely as the cricket season is still fairly busy.
