should you ever post an NR?
The reason I ask is that I played my first ever medal on Sunday. I'm a 28 handicap and shot 113....... 85 nett.
During the usual beers after the round I thought a couple of times about tearing up my scorecard but I finally decided to hand it in none the less. Other than 4 very bad holes in which I made some real stupid decisions I actually didnt play that bad and points wise would have scored quite well.
It hasn't put me off playing in future medals and needless to say I've learnt alot from the round of golf.
So honestly then who would have NR'd and who would have handed the card in?

Real golfers always return their cards, no matter how bad they are, so you are to be congratulated on doing the right thing.
You have to remember it was your first medal, probably first time off the back medal tees and having to putt out everything. Also add in that the rules must strictly be adhered to and it is no surprise that things went a little bit wrong on the day.
I am sure you will have learned from the experience and next time you will be fine.

I agree, it is better to have a handicap you can realistically play too rather than one that is based on all your "one-off" super rounds.

You'd be supprised Danny. I have a mate, thats always doing that, sometimes you can even hear it. Still denies it though.

Sorry for being thick. What does NR stand for?

I thought thats what it stood for.
In that case I don't understand the question.

So once you've posted it, its not an NR. Thats why I didn't quite understand the question.

No.
The question asks. Should you post an NR?
If you post it, its not an NR. If its an NR, it's not posted.
