handicap
I am still struggling to break 100,( I know I can do better--one day!) and put my scorecards in on Golfshake where I am returned a handicap of 28. I submitted three cards at my Club and received a handicap of 26, for a 107. 105, 109. Apparently when setting the handicap, anything over a double bogey is discounted. Is this normal ? and how does it affect such a high score?

Anything over a double bogey isn't counted. Might have something to do with Stableford rules??

Your first 3 cards are used to calculate your handicap
Anything over a double bogey is rounded down to double bogey. So a 7 on a par 4 becomes 6.
Add up your gross scores on every hole after you have rounded down to double bogey on the necessary holes.
Then simply subtract the SSS from this amount.
ie. 95 (gross score) - 69 (SSS) = 26.
The best score of the 3 cards will give you your handicap.

Excellent round of golf, James on a very good course. Looks as though your current handicap is way too many.
I used to be a member at Frinton so you will appreciate that I have played many courses in your area. I particularly liked Woodbridge and Rushmere.

No, James, I now live in Berkshire, but have fond memories of the many fine course in that part of the world, not to mention the worthwhile trips to Hunstanton, Cromer, Aldeburgh and Royal West Norfolk.
Good luck in the search for a compatible driver.
