What the club says: The course is designed to make you think about the club selection and shot execution of each golf stroke, rather than just a requirement to hit huge distances. The well-placed greens invite you to shoot for the pin and will hold a well-flighted ball, while the bunkering is visually impressive with mounding and contouring that blends in nicely with the natural surroundings. Water comes into play on quite a few holes, especially the par threes, and this adds to the challenge resulting in a wonderfully rewarding golfing experience. Enjoy the far reaching views across to both Exmoor and Dartmoor.

Nice Course
Tucked away in Devon we had a great day even though due to Covid the clubhouse was shut, Friendly helpful staff, course although wet in places played very well with some good scenic holes.Will definately go back would be good to play in the summer in dry conditions

Weather was very wet but didn’t spoil game
Course lay out was 1 to 11 which flowed well but after walking down hill to play par 3 you walk up the hill again to play the 12. Greens slower than course I play . Hotel was WOW food was WOW would definitely stop and play again

afternoon teas
Lovely course and with the rain the night before played really well however the light rough was not that light and very hard to get out of bit far from my location however if were down in the area again would play again(Round played: Aug 2017 - Score: 79 Handicap: 12.1)

Good tricky little course
Good golf course great facilities lots of water. Will go again. Great views around north Devon. Some tough holes. Don't be put off by the low par, this is a great course(Round played: Jun 2017 - Score: 94 Handicap: 18.9)

a lovely picturesque course with views of Exmoor and Dartmoor, not long but quite tricky in places

Nice little course very short but a great challengefor golfers of all standards. The back 7 hole are delightful with some stunning holes. Overall the course was in good condition and would definitely recommend.

played this course today 20th November 2014,
having played here many time s as family live in barnsataple was very disapointed in the shortened winter course and bumpy greens that added to shortened tee with no idea of how far left to the greens as the green staff hadnt moved the yardage markers.
The bar had one guy on serving at least fifty people food and drink at the same time and took so long we decided to go to the pub down the road.
also we listerned to the poor club members about what the new owners have in plan for the the 16th 17th 18th fairawys, in their wisdom it seems that log cabins are to be put on these holes to increase the amount of rooms that the hotel have to offer, thus shorterning the course and ruining the back nine.
what a shame that the owners dont seem to care about this jewel in North devon!!
whern we come and visit family again i think we will play at Royal North devon.

Hotel and golf complex now under new management, money now being spent, new tennis courts etc.
Great position, wonderful scenery. excellent Sunday carvery lunch (3 courses £13.00) super value.
A round of golf is £15 a buggy £20. just to update above costs.
Have played a few times over summer and found greens to be in good condition. Ny only gripe is that the 'air' here seems to make my golf ball swerve to the right, and i now know my golf balls do not float!!

Absolutely not another sole on the course. Sodden in places and has been the past few times I've played it, but still playable. 18th hoel is closed and you have to play a small par 3 to finish up which is a shame. Greens in good condition.
