What the club says: The superb 7213 yard par 72 championship course at Wychwood Park has been constructed to European PGA Tour standards and features a fully computerised irrigation system; the superb tees and large greens are also constructed to USGA specifications. There are five separate teeing grounds to suit all standards of golfer and the course is kept in supreme condition throughout the year. Having opened in 2001 this young gem is beginning to mature into a real championship classic, leaving many critics singing its praises despite its relative youth. The course also features numerous lakes, streams and bunkers, making it one of the most picturesque new courses in the UK & Ireland. Wychwood Park has hosted many professional events now adds the European tour Q school to its growing reputation.

What Golfshake says: A certain golfshake favourite and a brilliant test of golf. Every hole is different and you need to be on your game to play well here.

A tough but fair test. Good variety of holes with outstanding par 3s. Course in great shape. Tee colours based on slope rating made it interesting. Friendly, helpful pro shop. Played 3 successive days on a golf break and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Great golf course!

Stayed with 3 mates for a 2-night 3 round golf break and we were very impressed with all aspects of Wychwood Park. The course is fairly open, but dog-legs, numerous bunkers, plenty of water and changes in height make it a stern challenge. Off the tee it's fairly forgiving and on most holes you'd have to hit a pretty bad one to be in real trouble - as we proved on several occasions! The greens were running fast with some very tricky borrows to negotiate. Overall the course is well maintained, although several of the bunkers were very claggy.

The 'enjoyment tees' based on slope rating seemed to work well. Being mid(ish!)-handicappers we played off the 138s and enjoyed the challenge.

Staff in the pro-shop were very friendly and helpful, the pace of play was good and Wychwood Park is one of those courses where nearly every hole is distinctive. So overall an excellent golfing experience.

Tough but worth trying

This is a tough track but lovely at the same time.
Variety of tees, indicated by the Stroke index. We played the '138' where I got 3 extra shots, but off the 151 I would have had 5!
All of the tee markers are the same colour which was a bit confusing at times.
Greens were a little long but that is probably due to the extreme heat at the moment.
On some tees you can't even see where to put the ball so you just have to go for it. Luckily I was playing with a member.
Facilities and staff great.
Tough course but definitely worth a go!

Beautiful setting

Wychwood Park is a lovely set up, great hotel.

The course was very fiery, rock solid fairways which made it very difficult for our group.

Greens were very big and undulating, pretty quick too.

Greenside bunkers were disappointing with little sand in.

Clubshop couldn't do enough for us.

Challenging course, a stiff test

Lots of tests on this course, with strategically placed bunkers, streams and dog legs. The greens were very poor, but it is early in the season. Even though the course itself isn't long, there are some long walks between green to nect tee and dut ot the undulations a uggy is a definate help.

Big and bold

Very long course with challenging holes. Greens were fantastic with the pin positions in very difficult placements. Great setting well manicured but the rough is tough so stay straight.
