What the club says: Set in over 160 acres of quiet, secluded private grounds, the 18 hole par 72 rolling parkland course is a test for golfers of all abilities. From the moment you drive through the historic wrought iron gates into the car park, call into the well stocked Pro-shop and take the short walk through the formal gardens to the 1st tee, all of life's modern day stresses will have left you to focus on the game ahead where you will enjoy what we consider, to be the best course in the county!

Good course and venue
One of those outstanding courses that I always look forward to playing each year. A lot of money was spent on the course a few years ago, with some bunkers being filled in, new ones placed at more appropriate places, and loads of new turf around the greens. This is all now nicely bedded in, and the course looks the better for it.This was my first round here this year, as they changed the March senior open to a pairs event which I couldn't attend. The greens are normally absolutely superb, but they carried out maintenance earlier than usual, which meant they had been scarified and top-dressed, and so were inconsistent and slow.
Bunkers were looking good, and certainly the ones I found had plenty of sand in them, were nicely raked and played well.
I had a chat with the starter, who mentioned that we were playing just after their Autumn maintenance, which included scarification and top-dressing, so if you're playing soon after mid-October, you may wish to check the timing of maintenance. The autumn colours had started to kick in, which made the course look very pretty with the many mature trees and nice views.
Food was included in our price, but it's always been good here, although I don't believe they open as early as they used to, so it would be best to check if you want a meal before your game.
I'm already looking forward to playing again next year.

1st Visit & Impressed
We visited Wellingborough on the 24th May 2024 and played as a 3-ball. The welcome and overall experience were excellent. The course was in fantastic condition, only a little soft in a few areas of rough, however, the fairways and greens were a joy to play on. We found the course design to be very good, plenty of challenges for us and some interesting holes. Pace of play was good, in front, and we had no-one behind us.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable round, I parred the 18th and the weather was very kind to us.
We had lunch, in the bar, and found the food excellent, at very reasonable prices. We are looking forward to arranging another visit.

Beautiful and picturesque
A beautiful and picturesque course to visit and play. Very grand clubhouse and grounds. Nice little shop, great practice facilities. The staff were very welcoming and the quality of the catering was outstanding. The course itself is one of the prettiest I've played in the area and some of the holes were very photo worthy, simply lovely. A good test and a good walk surprisingly up and down a little more than you'd expect. Loved the day and can't wait for a return. If anything a little on the pricier side than normal but enjoyable.Reviewer Rating

Well worth a visit
One of those outstanding courses that I always look forward to playing each year. A lot of money was spent on the course a few years ago, with some bunkers being filled in, new ones placed at more appropriate places, and loads of new turf around the greens. This is all now nicely bedded in, and the course looks the better for it.As usual for October, this was my second round here in the year, in the second of their 2 senior opens, which are held in March (as a pairs event from 2023) and October as a singles event. The greens were absolutely superb and running very true and very quick even after all the rain we've had recently. Bunkers were looking good, and certainly the one I found had plenty of sand in it, but when I played the shot, this was quite compact under the perfectly raked surface.
In October 2022; I had a chat with the pro, who mentioned that we were playing just ahead of their Autumn maintenance, which would include deep hollow-tining and top-dressing, so if you're playing soon after mid-October, I'm sorry you missed the perfection we had for our outing. I should mention the ponds, which, after being very low on water in 2022, were back to their full volume, and making the course look back to its normal very pretty self with many mature trees and nice views.
Food was included in our price, but it's always been good here, although I don't believe they open as early as they used to, so it would be best to check if you want a meal before your game.
I'm already looking forward to playing again in March next year.

This is all now nicely bedded in, and the course looks the better for it.This was my second round here this year, in the second of their 2 senior opens, which are held in March and October. The greens were absolutely superb, with my playing partners likening them to carpets of velvet, so the greens were very quick. Bunkers were looking good, and certainly the ones I found had plenty of sand in them, were nicely raked and played well. One playing partner thought the sand was quite heavy, and therefore took a little more clubhead speed to get through.

I should mention the ponds, which, after some very dry spells, were looking very low on water, which was probably the only dowside to what is normally a very pretty course with many mature trees and nice views.
Food was included in our price, but it's always been good here, although I don't believe they open as early as they used to, so it would be best to check if you want a meal before your game.

Beautiful course, deceptive and traditional
A lovely traditional course, with undulating hills, quite tight fairways and very consistent greens. Virtually no water in play, and some deep bunkers. It is a bit up and down, but a buggy is unnecessary. The clubhouse is set within a large old country home, making it visually striking. Staff were nice, but I found the food uninspiring (Beef ready sliced for example.)Reviewer Rating

Perfectly kept greens and fairways
Long challenging and rewarding holes. Situated next to a 18 Century Hall classic parkland scenes . Perfectly kept greens and fairways. Practice area behind the hall small club shop but full of stock. Plenty of trees to drive over off the tee . Long cornering and steep fairways so a precise tee shot is key.Reviewer Rating
