Played a 2 ball with my friend. Was asked to play from 10th tee as there was a womens competition on. Just about to tee off on the 10th, where the 4 ball who were playing the previous tee shouted over at me that they were playing that tee and we had to wait. The gentleman even shouted his name and told me to go quote it at the clubhouse. While I understand the rules, they were still playing the green of the 9th hole. Rather than get stuck behind a 4 ball, we went to the clubhouse where the staff member apologised for them and offered a free drink. We missed our tee time and had to start on the 1st tee. The course was in good shape and green keepers were friendly however this encounter left a bad taste.

Nice layout but condition not great

Myself and two friends played this course on Bank Holiday Monday 26th August. The club is comfortable and staff very friendly. The course has a lovely layout. It feels long at over 6600 yards. A two ball teed off before us. At the 2nd it became a 3 ball when one of their mates appeared from the woods and bunked on. Youngsters with no etiquette so it was slow. The fairways are nice and quite wide, although a little hairy in places. Could do with a cut. Wander off the fairways and the rough is punishing, but thankfully I didn’t find it too often. The greens are ok but could do with a shorter cut and iron. A bit woolly, slow paced. On some of them there are signs of poor watering/irrigation. The bunkers were poor and unkempt. Some with good sand others very bare. The biggest criticism however goes to the tee areas, which are awful, badly cut up, no watering, extensive divots, not flat in places, so uneven stances at set up. Easily the worst I’ve seen sadly. £27 for a 1:30pm tee time. Cheap but we felt it wasn’t the best golfing experience.

The course is in good condition considering the pants weather we have had. Could maybe do with the rough literally on the edge of the fairways being a little shorter because I lost a couple of balls even though my aim wasn't too far off but I will take it, it's a challenging course for a high handicapper like me but that part of the challenge. I did manage to pars, on 2 of the more difficult holes

Well maintained course. Good layout with plenty of well placed hazards for the amateur golfer to get caught in.

Excellent Condition

We were provided a well set up and pleasant course, a delight to play. The fairways were starting to show the effect of sunshine and need some water. The greens were very true.

Scarthingwell Golf Course

First time visitor and was very pleased with what I saw. The Course is an 18-holer and has a variety of challenges. The fairways are well kept n wide and the greens were spot on.
Staff are very friendly. There is a small club shop, a practice putting green and a couple of driving nets. It's in a very nice setting and will be returning.

It's quite challenging for a high handicap golfer like me but I found the course to be challenging. I managed to par one of the long par 5?s so I know I can do it, just need more practice
