What the club says: Owned by Horsham District Council and managed by The Country Club Group, this impressive Pay & Play facility offers an excellent 18 hole course and a 9 hole Pitch & Putt course as well as an attractive Golf Centre incorporating The Sussex Barn function venue.Located just off the A24 Horsham bypass, the course is found in a picturesque setting and has the benefit of being close to Horsham town centre.

Nice course layout
Haven't played here for over a year, still a decent course in reasonable condition. Enjoyed an evening round with the 7 8 9 triangle being the highlight. Halfway house was shut but I got through it.Reviewer Rating

Rookwood
First time here. Got lost between several holes as signposting is poor, and there?s also no yardage markers anywhere. That aside, it's an excellent course with interesting holes and contoured greens. I?ll be back, but only with a yardage gizmo thing.Reviewer Rating

Shouldn't have been open
The course was an absolute bog, with many parts waterlogged and therefore unplayable.Reviewer Rating

Great Course
The course is Parkland, it's not a hard course so is good for all types of golfers, easy to walk and has a halfway hut for refreshments if required and also buggies for those that can't manage the walk. The fairways are quite forgiving and a few bunkers dotted about and offers a few challenges. Course is in good condition considering the wet weather and is very easy to get too. It is well worth a visit and also they small Par 3 course for pitch and put and footgolf and why not pop into the clubhouse after where you can have breakfast, lunch, etc and all the staff are very friendly and helpful nothing is too much trouble.Reviewer Rating

Awful Course
We played Rookwood course recently and were charged £35 to play on a completely unplayable course. The course was boggy mud all the way round and the fairways hadn't been cut for weeks (even though most areas were mud, not grass). They had no interest in enforcing pace of play either. The round was so incredibly slow, we gave up after 16 holes. This isn't helped by the fact that the back 9 has several par 3's and a short par 4 in quick succession, creating heavy congestion. Avoid this course.
Also saw the guy working in the halfway house empty the bit outside with his bare hands and then go back into the hut to continue working with food, without washing his hands or wearing gloves. Don't eat at the halfway house.

It's been a bit wet of late!
Much as there can't be much more rain in the sky to come down!, Rookwood remains open much of the time, greens in great condition albeit they're a bit slow.Reviewer Rating
