What the club says: This 18 hole course was established in 1894 and is set in 120 acres of hilly scenic parkland. Its demanding layout and rich heritage draws golfers from all over Europe, featuring verdant, tree lined fairways and well kept greens. From the 244 yard opening par 3, where the drive is over a valley to a small green cut into a hill, to the highly acclaimed par 5 14th hole, golfers are confronted with numerous and memorable challenges. 5,540 yards Par 69.

Great course
Nice and convenient to get to on foot for those staying in local hotels in Bournemouth. Was easy to book online and greens were excellent. Many interesting holes especially the par 3s and also the longer 14th hole was a beauty. Pro was very friendly and made me feel very welcome. Would recommend a visit here for those staying in the areaReviewer Rating

There are dog walkers but most are considerate. Beautifully maintained greens... Take extra golfballs.

Good winter course
Green fee is far more realistic in winter as Summer fees are high.Course was in good order and the greens had good speed and played well.
No temp tees or greens when I played

Beware the dog walkers
Old Municipal course which, living locally, has become very expensive especially in the summer. I'm hoping this was due to covid but the price they ask and then you still have to contend with the dog walkers. Sorry guys but the course doesn't warrant what you are asking.Reviewer Rating

Umm!
Not my favourite course. There are a lot of footpaths going all over the course with dog walkers having priority. One or two of the holes were a bit "Micky Mouse"Reviewer Rating

Enjoyable but tight tree lined course
Really enjoyed playing here on Saturday afternoon. Fairly short but quite tight on a number of holes, with pine trees lining almost every hole making it visually attractive. Greens in good shape and fairways in good condition for the time of year and price, much greener & grassier than anywhere I've played for weeks. Par 3s a highlight, and some good par 4s through the trees. Only saw 3 other groups of golfers, so pretty much had the place to myself. A fair few dog walkers and runners but not a problem. I don't live locally (visiting the in-laws) but already looking forward to returning.Reviewer Rating
