What the club says: Lochmaben Golf Club is an attractive 18-hole parkland golf course which occupies a historic area around the Kirk Loch. Near to the second green is the site of Robert the Bruce’s Castle. Playing the third hole, you can see the remains of the defensive motte. This is one of the best parkland courses in the South of Scotland.

Society visit
We stopped off to play at this course on our way to Troon. 14 of us and as one we agreed what a smashing little track it was. The staff are very friendly and the course was in an excellent condition, green sso true. Very scenic to the point it distracts from your golf. If your in the area visit, you won't be sorry.Reviewer Rating

Fantastic course worth visiting
A fantastic course worth visiting. Very pretty and some lovely holes and some testing ones too. Great clubhouse, welcoming staff and great value for money. Nice big lake to avoid on many of the holes.(Round played: Sep 2021 - Score: 93 Handicap: 18.4)

Great little course off the beaten track and well worth a visit if you can play around Dumfries. Has a mixture of challenging holes where accuracy is necessary. The greens were fantastic and the course wouldn’t look out of place as a second course at a resort.

Fantastic course, great layout. Definitely the best course in Dumfries and Galloway. Duncan and his team of green keepers have done an awesome job in keeping this course in great condition.

Beautiful lakeside venue
A fantastic find in the Scottish hills. A beautiful and quaint course set around a lake. Tight in places with long par 3's and very picturesque. Lovely surroundings and very friendly locals and staff. Very small car park but well worth a visit. Lovely food.(Round played: Sep 2019 - Score: 94 Handicap: 17)

A good little club
We received a very warm welcome; even a free mug of coffeeThe course is typical of those around this part of D&G a parkland course on a few hills with trees and bushes to lose you ball in. The teeing grounds are well maintained as are the greens the fairways are well kept too, but narrow in places as a result of the terrain.
We visit quite often 2/3 time a year and would recomend it to anyone

Great course

Phoned up around half an hour before teeing off to see if we could get on the course for 9 holes before a wedding in Gretna later that day. Lady on the phone was very helpful and said she'd get us out. Half an hour later turn up at the club and greeted by very friendly members and staff offering tips on a route for 9 holes. Course was very well presented, greens very good for time of year and condition of fairways and rough excellent. Layout of the holes we played were very good with some well placed fairway bunkers and greenside bunkers. Course offered great value for money and wouldn't hesitate to head back there or call in as a pit-stop on way to more northern Scottish courses. Was also really good to see so many juniors out on the course playing a competition - just what the sport needs! Thanks to all, Kev
