South Chesterfield Review
Round played July 2024. This round was midweek and was directly behind senior members playing in a competition. The 4 members in front had no intention of letting me and my playing partner through (both single figure handicaps) during the round. It actually took over 5 hours to complete! We had to wait on every tee and every approach shot to the greens. On 2 occasions I saw one of the members play out of a greenside bunker and not even rake it afterwards! The etiquette from these so-called members was appalling! The course was very dry in places, you cannot fly the ball into the greens as they are so firm. The tees were very scruffy, lots of bare patches as were the fairways. Some of the bunkers had hardly any sand in them and the bunkers that had some sand were full of stones. The 18th fairway was terrible, you do well to find grass on this hole. When we had finally completed our round we both had a well deserved drink in the clubhouse, it was like walking into a morgue. An extremely negative environment full of senior members who obviously think they are more important than a couple of paying visitors. Overall, it was a very disappointing visit. The only positive was the green fee that was less than £20.Reviewer Rating

Early afternoon delight
Managed to find a car park space - expected course to be rammed with punters, but surprisingly we had a clear wait free time throughout -big thank you to all for no slow play.The weather was kind, the greens were lush and true, the fairways not so lush but accommodating.
Found the 5th hole (par 5) difficult but not as difficult as the 10th which should attract a lower SI -
Overall a great afternoon!!

The course is a good layout and forgiving for mid to high handicap golfers..it was still very wet in places but the greens have stood up well after all the rain the last few months..The pro shop is competitive with the pro himself very informative..

Great morning
Had pre booked visit but got stuck in traffic rang pro shop and re scheduled time for when we arrived. Course conditions heavy under foot in part with little or no carry. Greens in good condition so didn't spoil the round. Friendly clubhouse and bar staffReviewer Rating

This is a lovely course to play, well maintained and not too expensive. If you're elderly though you might want to hire a buggy as some of the inclines are challenging. I always enjoy playing here.

Gordenio at South Chesterfield.
The course was in good condition albeit the fairways and 1st cut meant the grass was a little long, Greens were very quick and quite tricky. Suspect the locality had experienced heavy rain which probably accounted for grass length. Play was unfortunately quite slow. The reception experience was good and the bar person pleasant and helpful. All in all a decent fays golf. We have played the course before and will no doubt return again ( 4 Ball)Reviewer Rating
