Challenging back 9
First 13 holes are fairly easy, nothing too challenging. Lots of drivable par 4?s and some short par 3?s.Hole 14-18 is where things get tough. Hole 15 is a 700 yard par 5 and it can be very unforgiving if you're playing into wind. Shot a personal best yesterday though and I came out with a bogey. Never been happier. Overall I?d say the course is a 3/5 for difficulty. 2/5 for the greens. Some are very bobbly, some have holes in. Some roll smoothly.

Testing Little Course in the Fens
Short but testing in the main to include the longest par 5 ever. If you hit high and straight it would be easy, but if off line you are gone and maybe down a deep drain. Greens are very undulating and difficult to read. But give it a go on a nice clear day.Reviewer Rating

A nice village course
I don't go to gedney as much as other courses as it's slightly further away, but when I do go I always enjoy it. It's a tough course with some narrow fairways and an extremely long par 5 (hole15) but a good challenge for anyone local who fancies a challenge. The staff are friendly and the pro shop is being upgraded at the minute so that should be good to see. It has recently improved but the only bad thing was the greens weren't always in the best shape, with birds taking holes out of the green and leaving a lot of mud behind. But now it looks like they're on top of that and have added cat alarms.Reviewer Rating

Tight and challenging
Fantastic value for money at ?12. Very tight, accuracy important as is course management with a number of doglegs. Fairways were long so very little roll and greens had grass cuttings on themReviewer Rating

200 mile round trip just to play here
Found this course by chance on a visit to Spalding. It's my favourite course to play on. Not very long but some challenging holes. Lovely, friendly people and playing in the afternoon feels like I've got the place to myself. I make a 200 mile round trip just to play there but I think it is worth it. Great VFM and the longest par 5 in the UK.Reviewer Rating

LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT
My nephew and I travelled to Spalding and decided to play a round of golf. We found Gedney Hill and fell in love with the place straight away. The course is not long even though it has the longest par 5 in the UK!! Accuracy is very important as there are hazards everywhere. The staff, owner and members that we have met are very friendly and we felt at home straight away. We have returned a few times now making regular 200 mile trips and plan to make many more. If we lived closer we would become members in a heartbeat. The course is so different to any that we have played before and suits are 20 handicaps. Really good VFM and well worth a visit. The only slight criticism is that some of the fairways and bunkers need a bit of maintenance but it hasn't spoiled our enjoyment. We can't wait to play there again.Reviewer Rating
