What the club says: Renowned for it's challenging layout, the course has lush undulating fairways and stunning greens are a true test for golfers of all ages and abilities. Set at the foot of the Pennine Hills, in between what were the lofty chimneys of the nearby cotton mills, this heath/parkland course has matured into a fine but fair challenge of golf.

Excellent
Great course greens in fantastic condition some of the members are a little unfriendly but you can get that at any club(Round played: Aug 2019 - Score: 89 Handicap: 16.6)

Royton in the Rain
good condition this week the greens - course was very quiet playing after 13:30hrs. Martin Beatty is a very helpful pro at the club.(Round played: Jun 2019 - Score: 87 Handicap: 15)

Played this course today for the first time. Don’t live too far away but this is an hidden gem which I’m so glad I’ve discovered! Staff in pro shop helpful and were warm in welcoming us. The course was in excellent condition despite a few days of heavy rain. There is plenty of character on the course. Can’t wait to play here again.

Course wasn't to bad apart from the greens the keeper hadn't been out in the morning blowing the greens, very disappointing.
