What the club says: There are three championship golf courses at The Celtic Manor Resort
The Twenty Ten Course (Par 71 - 7,493 yards)
Built to stage the 2010 Ryder Cup, the first course to be designed specifically for golf’s greatest team tournament, the Twenty Ten Course has also hosted numerous European Tour events. With water hazards on half of its holes, the course presents many memorable tests and risk-and-reward dilemmas. One of the spectacular course’s strengths is its variety, with many of the earlier holes having a links-like feel with long rough and greenside swales, before the middle section reveals the full extent of the lake-lined challenge.
The Roman Road Course (Par 70 - 6,406 yards)
The very first of the Resort’s courses, Roman Road opened in 1995 and overlooks the Severn Estuary with views across to Somerset and Devon, this course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Senior. It is named after the old Via Julia Roman highway that ran through its fairways. Venue for numerous European Tour and Senior Tour events, this challenging course features some long open fairways but also a number of twists and turns through trees and across streams.
The Montgomerie Course (Par 69 - 6,196 yards)
The legendary Colin Montgomerie has called on all his Ryder Cup experience to create a spectacular course with many exciting tests of strategy. Montgomerie has also drawn on his roots in Scottish links golf to create a traditional feel enhanced by deep and penal pot bunkers. Spectacular views abound with dramatic tee shots over valleys and breathtaking hill shots.

Do not play in winter
Played Montgomerie at the beginning of March and it was absolutely appalling. Hit a lovely drive off the first tee only to find it plugged in the fairway. It didn’t get much better as we went round. Clubs, trousers and bag were covered in mud. Just to rub salt in the greens had had maintenance work so were bumpy. It hadn’t rained for a week so I’d hate to think what it was like beforehand. In my opinion the course should not have been open as all it did was leave a bitter taste for what is probably a very nice course. Also there is are long and hilly walks between some of the tees so beware if you are not overly mobile or fit.
Can’t fault the staff or the facilities as all were top notch

Celtic Manor Late Feb 25
Myself and a close friend booked Celtic Manor as our first proper golf trip having taken up golf 18 months ago. Not knowing what to fully expect we’ve come away taken aback by how amazing it was. Not only all 3 courses being amazing (Back 9 of Montgomery being my personal favourite) but how good the staff were with us. From our first day they couldn’t help you enough whether it’s offering to clean your clubs and trollies after a round or even something simple like opening doors for you as your carting your trollies around. Josh in the clubhouse was particularly helpful with everything we needed golf related. I honestly couldn’t recommend this place enough to people who are on the fence about booking. We’ll be back in the future no doubt. Amazing place and amazing team. Thankyou!Reviewer Rating

Titleist series pairs winter comp
Great experience. The golf team and set up is excellent from start to finish. Bag drop, breakfast, tournament app, buggie set up and meal afterwards. Will definitely be playing in many more. It’s wet as it’s winter but course held up very well and greens were rolled true.Reviewer Rating

I can’t thank Glenn enough .

Great service, great course!
I had the pleasure of playing the 2010 today for the second time and the amazing course conditions are bettered only by the incredible service I received from everyone a the resort. The course itself is playing very well, there has been some work done on the drainage since I last played and although we have been having some very wet, very cold conditions, there was very little water. The greens were immaculate and played like the championship course it is.
The staff though are the real crown in the jewel of Celtic Manor resort. We were looked after from the moment we arrived, to the time we were dropped off at the club house doors along with our newly cleaned clubs. A great day, made even more special by great people.

Not this time of yer
A great venue and course to play in the summer or dry conditions. The course was incredibly boggy in place which spoilt a great course. Greens in great condition and very fast and unforgiving.Would play again in better conditions.
Views spectacular..

Celtic Manor Golf Resort
Played both the Montgomerie & Twenty Ten Golf courses over a two day experience. Montgomerie is challenging on many levels and is tougher than the 120 slope rating. The golf course is not flat or for the faint hearted. There is a fair distance from green to the next tee so a buggy is advised. The Twenty Ten course is much flatter but just as challenging as water is never far away from catching a wayward shot. I did notice that there are no ball washers or benches at any tee on the Twenty Ten Golf course. There is an optional parking 3 challenge on hole 10 where a hole in one wins a 10 year membership or land on the green for a free round on Montgomerie or Roman Road golf courses. The whole complex is huge with two clubhouse's and an Academy Driving Range next to the Montgomerie golf course. The staff are friendly and cannot do enough for every golfer making it a truly great experience.Reviewer Rating
