What the club says: The course offers all players unlimited opportunities to complete a round with a real sense of achievement. Natural obstacles include a former quarry and spinneys of trees dotted round the course. Apart from the par threes, there are only two holes that might reasonably be called straight. All the rest, to a greater or lesser degree, are dog-legs. Although trouble is reasonably well distributed on both sides of most holes, the slicer generally comes off worse than the hooker. It is a true test for all golfers.

Perfect in all respects
As a Society organiser, this was the very best and most efficient club to deal with for many a year, nothing was too much trouble, and on the day itself, the welcome from everyone, the catering, and their entire attention to detail, was top class, so much so that we (very unusually!) booked again for 2022. Perfect in all respects.Reviewer Rating

I was given a courtesy round as I am considering joining and was put to play with a group of 11 seniors who were extremely welcoming and very pleasant to play with.
Unfortunately the course was on temp tees and some of the greens had been worked on over the winter, but will clearly be very good in the summer.
The course was fairly open and enjoyable, if you go off line you are likely to end up in trees, but with mown grass underneath, a sensible punishment which keeps the game moving. There are plenty of challenging approaches with some tricky pin positions as the greens have plenty of slopes to them which keeps it interesting and makes you think about where to play the shot in.
The club house is old, but very well appointed and has a nice feel to it. having a spike bar is always a plus, but the main bar and restaurant also seemed appealing. I didn't try the food, but there were plenty of people chosing items from the menu.
The practice facilities (although I didn't use them) were plentiful, an 8 bay driving range, a short game area and large putting green should get you properly warmed up for the round.
Would I play here again? Yes, but the green fee is a bit steep at a standard weekday £55, but Bristol and Clifton is certainly at the higher end of members clubs.
