Gatton Manor Golf Club Welcomes New Teaching Pro Lloyd Davies
Gatton Manor Golf Club has added further strength to their professional team with the appointment of new Head Teaching Coach Lloyd Davies.
Joining existing PGA Professionals Malcolm Churchill and Max Newman, the appointment shows further signs of the commitment being made to develop the golf academy and teaching skills provided by the club.
Lloyd, 24 is one of the South’s youngest teaching professionals having taken to golf when an injury at 14 thwarted a career on the rugby pitch. A natural on the course, he turned professional after only 3 years of training.
Having honed his skills as an Assistant Professional at Slinfold Golf & Country Club, Lloyd is excited about the challenges offered by Gatton Manor. Speaking of his new appointment Lloyd said “I am thrilled to have joined the team here at Gatton Manor, with the Driving range, Putting green and Short game area here we have access to some of the best teaching facilities in the region. As a young pro, I am particularly excited about building up a junior squad here at the club and we will be starting weekend coaching sessions for junior players from January”.
Looking forward to 2014, Malcolm and his team are focusing on developing a new golf academy at the club, which will offer a full range of lessons to players of all abilities.
