Robinson Quinta da Ria is Among Portugal's Best Golf Resorts

By: Kieran Clark | Wed 28 Aug 2024

You don't need us to tell you that Portugal is one of the most special golf destinations on the planet - and much of that is due to the sheer variety and depth of resorts and courses that are on offer.

If you haven't heard of Robinson Quinta da Ria, then you are definitely missing out, as this should be a place at the forefront of your mind when planning a golf break to the Algarve.

Located just 45 minutes to the east of Faro Airport, Robinson Quinta da Ria is close to the Spanish border and benefits from a spectacular countryside setting near the Ria de Formosa Nature Reserve that makes this an appealing retreat for both golfers and those who value their leisure time in beautiful surrounds.

For us, the biggest appeal is that the venue sits within two courses, Quinta da Ria and Quinta de Cima, which makes this a fabulous base for a golf holiday.

Robinson Quinta da Ria - What You Need to Know

Robinson Quinta da Ria

Within the resort, there 285 rooms that are broken down into various sizes, suites and apartments. Each is modern and stylish, with many of them benefitting from a balcony or terrace space, giving guests a perfect spot to unwind.

For evenings, the main restaurant offers international buffets, nightly themed dishes and fun gala nights, while the more sophisticated, a la carte restaurant, A Pousada, is where you can discover a Mediterranean-themed gourmet menu, with beverages and entertainment being available from the resort's bars too.

Should you wish to relax in comfort, the venue has a Wellfit Spa with seven treatment rooms, as well as a steam bath, a sauna and a solarium. Naturally, services here include massages, cosmetic treatments, traditional ayurvedic applications and rest rooms.

And you can earn your chilled time by visiting the fitness centre, where you can participate in Pilates sessions, aerobics classes and supervised workouts.

If you're of an active disposition, then at Robinson Quinta da Ria you can play tennis, football volleyball, hire a bike or explore the magical area around the lagoon. There is something for everyone here.

The Golf Courses

Quinta da Ria

Being part of the Golfshake Community, this is the information that you'll be most intrigued by. You can fall out of your bed and onto the first tee of two superb golf courses at Robinson Quinta da Ria.

Let's first start with the eponymous layout itself that surrounds the venue. Quinta da Ria is a challenging test - made difficult by the introduction of five purpose-built lakes - but it's the scenery here that will take your breath away, as each hole boasts views of the nearby sea and mountains. Stunning.

With plenty of water hazards and many bunkers, Quinta da Cima is another place that will provide an examination for better players, while all golfers should love the immaculate conditioning, undulating terrain and wide fairways that make this a resort course that is a cut above the rest.

In addition to these two highlights, there are several other courses within 15 miles of the venue!

Why You Must Go

Our travel partners, Golfbreaks, describe Robinson Quinta da Ria as a "modern and stylish property, offering a perfect spot for a secluded Portuguese all-inclusive getaway."
