What the club says: For over 125 years golfers have enjoyed the beautiful wooded course and warm hospitality the Wildernesse Club has to offer. Founded in 1890 the Club has a proud heritage and today is a private members' club with an unassuming style which conceals a very special place for both members and visitors to enjoy the game we love.
Often considered the best inland course in Kent, during its history Wildernesse has been honored to host many prestigious golf tournaments and is currently used by the R&A as a Regional Qualifying Course for The Open until 2019.
Whether you are planning to visit us for the day, would like to join our membership or wish to hire our facilities for a private occasion we look forward to hearing from you and welcoming you.
Henry Longhurst, the renowned golf writer and commentator wrote of Wildernesse:
“I often think that golf is something of a sin in such a lovely setting.
The plodding golfer, his eyes glued to the ground and his thought confined to the prosaic details of his task, sees nothing of the beauty that is on every hand”

deceptively tough course
Good condition allowing for the weather we have had. Good greens, deceptively tough off the white tees.I was a members guest so £40 which was fine. I think the visitors rate of £125 is a bit steep, but it is a traditional members club so that may be less of a consideration. Nice clubhouse, practice area including short game area was good.Reviewer Rating

Fantastic course & club, deceptively hard
Played a tournament here on 21st May. First time I have played off the back tees - makes it significantly longer on some holes. Not too tight but mistakes get punished - greens were true and quick but not silly quick. Virtually no water (only on one hole I think).Staff were great - attentive, helpful, professional. I look forward to going back and doing it more justice.

Great course
Fantastic course, great condition from tee box to green. Varied challenges around the course and any loose shot punished. Greens receptive all year round. Lovely club house drinks and food.Reviewer Rating

Privilege to play
We were privileged to play this course on a Charity Day and as you would expect for a course used for the Open Qualifiers it was in superb condition despite the recent heavy rain. The greens in particular are challenging because of their pace and gentle slopes. The food served was excellent as was the service.Reviewer Rating
