Wow!

The views from this course are just incredible - and you're playing the highest tee in the UK.

I am bowled over by the friendliness and hospitality shown by ALL each time I come here - I travel 90 minutes to play here at least twice annually - and I think I will do so until I can't no longer play - and then I'd still probably venture up here just to see the staff and catch upo with them.

Unique, enjoyable course

Played during covid 19 so when arrived was literally nobody there. Greeted by sheep on the 1st hole but they are no bother.

It's strange course, it's not tiring to walk and relatively flat. It's been designed well apart from the 3rd hole it's just slight inclines your play on.

Fairways and greens are very good.

The 210 par 3, must be one of the toughest looking par 3 I have ever seen. If you are struggling to hit over 170 your in big trouble. I think they should introduce a drop zone to help those older and shorter players out.

If this course was by the sea it would be 3 times the price.

Great course. Back to basics golf in amongst the sheep and the hills. Stunning views, bit of wind, rain, sun and sleet thrown in for the full experience. Friendly and helpful members and staff. Tricky course first time round with lots of blind shots into the unknown, should take a few strokes off the front 9 next time. Definitely worth another visit.

Despite having to travel from London I look to play this course at least once a year. This is golf as it should be. Challenging but fair, brilliant views. Don't be put off by it being a Mountain Course, it is a gentle climb (The montgomerie at Celtic Manor is a lot more tiring on the legs) If you are in the area it is well worth a visit. There is a Premier Inn a couple of miles away and it is only 30 mins from Celtic Manor Resort. This club should be billed as the friendly club always a warm welcome, after my last round I was sitting in the clubhouse when a member approached me returning a ball of mine he had found.

A course which I have oft wanted to play, so despite a 5 hour return trip, the terrors of Bristol and the M4 were put aside!. And wow, what an experience, old and absolutely natural Moorland/Mountain course, sheep droppings et all. Nice warm welcome and up to the 1st tee for the first of many "where the ell do I go" shots! Some amazing views, many fantastic holes, the tough 7th, well worthy of its SI of 1, the 212 yard 10, where I managed a damned good 6, and then up the the 14th tee, the highest tee in GB, All downhill from then though, but the holes jut started to get tougher - the 15th seemingly impossible with the steep Right to left fairway, the 16th, 249 yards Par 3, straight down into the depths below and the delightful 17th with the green set into mounds all around. All in all, a delightful foray into all that is so very very different to you average parkland track - fairway and greens superb as well - give me this any day!
